Research and development
Plague Technology Global is an early-stage agritech venture investigating advanced optical, autonomous, and digital solutions to monitor desert locusts. We are currently at the concept and prototype-planning stage, exploring early evidence-based methodologies. To learn more about our company mission and leadership, please visit our About PTG page.

Optical sensing and intelligent analysis
Our initial research focuses on camera-based locust detection and classification alongside AI-assisted analysis of aerial and ground monitoring data. By evaluating automated visual recognition techniques, our goal is to identify swarming insects accurately in varied agricultural terrains. This work remains in active exploratory development, with no operational control claims made at this stage.

Mobile platforms and risk mapping
We are researching the integration of drones and mobile platforms to gather broader spatial information across vulnerable land. Pairing autonomous aerial mobility with locust-risk mapping aims to support targeted decision-making, giving agricultural communities and agencies actionable foresight to protect staple crops and local livelihoods.

Simulation and prototype planning
Before conducting field trials, our approach prioritises harmless simulation and prototype planning to rigorously evaluate algorithmic models and sensor inputs. PTG is actively seeking university researchers, technology partners, and grant funders to collaborate on testing these early concepts. Together, we can build robust, validated solutions for sustainable agriculture.
